I always get the garlic beef pepper rice and I love how crispy the rice gets from the hot plate. You have to add the garlic shoyu and teriyaki sauce, which melts all of the flavors together. The meat quality is great and the servers are friendly. For those who are trying to be low-cal, you can swap out the rice for veggies! It comes with bean sprouts, mushrooms, carrots and corn. I love that they offer alternatives and everything is customizable.

The two of us came for lunch. E ordered the beef iron and chicken karaaga to share and squid balls for appetizer. The quality of the food is good. Initially the entree by itself was a bit bland until we realized there are 3 sauces on the table. Once we did that it tasted much better. The price to portion ratio is very good.

My coworker recommended this place to me and since I was at Costco nearby, I decided to check this place out for lunch. When I walked in, there were already patrons inside, which was a good sign! We were seated at a table quickly and ordered through our phones using the QR code on the table. The Hubs and I shared the cheese corn, spicy garlic beef pepper rice and chicken katsu curry rice. The food came out rather fast and I was pleasantly surprised how good everything tasted! I enjoyed how the cheese melted quickly and resulted in ooey, gooey cheesy corn right before my eyes. I loved how the rice crisped up on the hot iron platter and provided great texture! You can customize your food to your liking with the condiments that they provide. The offer three different sauces - garlic shoyu, teriyaki and spicy miso. I rotated a few bites with each sauce so I wouldn't get flavor fatigue. I liked the food so much, I ended up going back two days later! My only complaint would be a lack of veggies. The plates come with corn and green onions, and you can add mushrooms for an additional charge. I guess I'll have to do that next time! Sizzling Lunch is a great place for a quick, affordable meal! The restaurant is very clean, and service is both friendly and good! Highly recommend!

I'm local to this location of Sizzling Lunch so have tried almost everything here. It's in a very quiet and quaint plaza next door to a couple of other small eateries, an India Cash & Carry, USPS, Starbucks, and city hall. Parking is plentiful. I like going to Sizzling Lunch for fast and convenient Asian comfort meals - mainly rice plates or saucy udon (they used to have potato glass noodles but discontinued it, which was for the best since it stuck to the plate). You can currently see their menu here, since they use QR code to order (they got rid of their tablets): https://www.toasttab.com/local/order/sizzlinglunch/r-0e5decb0-2fa2-4da7-ab68-d2128fc0143c One important thing of note is that you, your smartphone, and your fitness tracker will smell like a sizzling plate coming out no matter how hard you try to stay away from the sizzles. Their water is typically a delicious crisp cold. They also serve Sugar Mama sugar cane drinks with seasonal flavors. To season your dish if desired, they have salt, pepper, chili powder, teriyaki, garlic shoyu (tastes like ponzu), and spicy miso (tastes like gochujang). - Appetizer Our favorite is the cheese corn, as it's super stretchy, creamy cheese corn on a big plate. Everything else is just ok - just reheated fried stuff mostly. The kyuuri cucumber is a bit too sweet for me. - Pepper Rice This is what they're good at. How it works is that you get a mound of rice with a dollop of garlic butter surrounded by raw meat, and the sizzling plate cooks it (the plate is hot the entire time, do not touch it). You'll need to mix or stir it around yourself in order to get everything fully cooked. You may remove the paper splash guard when your food stops crackling. Season to preference; I like to add some of the garlic shoyu and spicy miso. If you leave the rice alone for a few minutes, it turns into delicious crispy crunchy rice. Make sure to flatten the rice against the plate and cover as much surface area as possible. Our favorite is the spicy garlic beef pepper rice. Just get what ingredients sound best to you, as they're all straightforward, with the understanding that beef is their best protein. I would not get the pork belly because it makes the dish excessively oily, - Udon Udon is a bit weird on a sizzling plate as it does nothing good for the udon... just kind of makes it stick for no reason. If you rather have noodles than rice, that's what it is there for. The shrimp udon came with a good amount of fully cooked shrimp. The curry beef udon basically tasted like udon stir fried in curry powder and nothing like typical curry udon. I'd recommend getting a side of curry sauce for udon instead. - Curry Sauce It barely scratches the itch if you want a curry rice dish - I usually want way more curry than they give. The curry tastes like a reasonably thick Golden Curry. The sizzling plate does nothing for the katsu except overcook it further (the chicken katsu is better than the pork for this reason). The red onions and mushroom don't contribute much. I'll still order this if I'm not in the mood for fried rice, though. The side of curry sauce is a pretty good deal if you want to turn a different dish into a curry plate - it's only $3. Sizzling Lunch has been a solid fast casual neighborhood spot here since the end of 2023, so I'm happy. They've done a couple of promotions for 15% off and I've gotten coupons once in the mail, but it's very rare since they're already a good value and have consistent customers. When you're done eating, you pay up front at their counter. I'd come here more often if I wasn't bothered by smelling like the sizzles after eating, despite how clean and spacious they keep things.

I've visited this place several times and really enjoy it. Not sure when they got rid of the iPads for ordering, but now it's through the QR code on the table. Food comes out fairly quickly. I've had the kimchi pepper beef rice, curry beef with cheese rice, salmon pepper rice, and garlic beef pepper rice -- all were great, but my favorite is the curry beef with cheese rice. One downside to the garlic beef pepper rice is that the garlic bits tend to burn quickly on the sizzling platter no matter how fast you mix. There's also various sauces on the table if you need it. If you're looking for a simple yet satisfying rice dish, this is definitely the place!

This was our first time here and I have to say I'm impressed. We walked in and was greeted with a friendly smile and seated immediately. We were told to order through the QR code on the table. After ordering we noticed that it started to fill up in the place. This place isn't very decorative but definitely has its own vibe to it. Mixed crowds (business people, families, people on dates). I ordered the Garlic beef pepper rice and I have to say I was impressed. I loved how my rice became crispy from the hot plate. I added garlic shoyu and teriyaki sauce to the dish and it just brought out more flavors.

Decided to give them another try and OMG. Tried something different got the Angus steak and it was excellent for $22.00. Meat was tender and definitely filling for one person. If you want a good steak and don't want to prepare it yourself. Sizzling Lunch is it. When you have a hankering for steak, got to order this, a must go to. Increased my rating from 3 to 5 stars. Was crowded on a weekday, food came out fast. If in the area, will stop by again.

I was hungry and I was waiting for my laundry to finish so here I am. I ordered the spicy black pepper rice w/egg. This was pretty tasty and I like the sauces that they keep on the side that help add on to the flavor. The way you order here is pretty easy. You scan a QR code and they bring the food to you, then you pay your tab up front. The food also comes out pretty fast. There is also a lot of parking available. Try it out if you like. :)

A friend of ours have been raving abbout Sizzling Lunch, so we figured we'd give it a try, and we were not disappointed. | Food | The garlic beef over rice was very good! Nice and garlicky, with sauce at the table that you can add yourself; I opted for the garlic shoyu. We also ordered the cheese corn, which was good; it got cold after a little while, however. The portions were generous, and it was a bit much for just the two of us. I'd get it again, but only if we were with a larger party to share. | Location | Casual location situated in a plaza. Plenty of parking. | Service | Casual service; don't be shy to flag someone down if you need something.

Sizzling Lunch is now mine and my husband's new fav go-to spot when we're further down the peninsula. We went for the first time a few months ago and have already been back three times! I love the garlic beef pepper udon and the garlic beef pepper rice--my favorite being the rice because I can't resist the crispy bits that build along the bottom of the sizzling plate! I love that I can add their sauces to my heart's content. The portion sizes are pretty good and I can even finish a plate when hungry, or take some home for leftovers. The cheese corn is also delicious on top of any of the sizzling plates! I love the QR code/phone ordering because it makes it super easy to go in a group as well.
